Containerumströmung
The objective of this project was to visualize the flow around a group of containers as well as the determination of the acting loads at high wind velocities.

Office containers are often stacked upon each other in groups (e.g. on construction sites or as provisional class rooms) and often reach the size and dimension of small buildings.

At high wind velocities (storms) considerable wind loads act on the surfaces of such container groups.

By using a flow simulation, these loads could be determined and the flow visualized.

The images in the reference sheet show the pressure distribution on the container group, and the super imposed velocity vectors, colorized in reference to the numerical value of velocity, as well as the eddy currents shedding off of the container group.
