Air conditioner

The aim of this project was to determine the optimal location for an air conditioner for retrofit installation using CFD simulation.

In the case of air conditioning units for retrofit installation, the question of the optimum position for the heat exchanger within the rooms often arises.

On the one hand, the cooling effect should be as far-reaching as possible, and on the other hand, the comfort for the persons concerned, which can be defined mainly by the temperature, the flow velocity as well as the air humidity, should be sufficiently high.

By using a CFD simulation, all relevant parameters of the flow can be investigated in advance in order to determine the optimal position and cooling capacity of the heat exchanger.
