LIMIT Features Overview

LIMIT Funktionen

 

LIMIT Software package consists of three modules:

  • - LIMIT-CAE: Preprocessing
  • - LIMIT-Analysis: Strength assessment
  • - LIMIT-Viewer: Postprocessing

 

LIMIT-CAE preprocessing:

  • - Visualization of the structure via Finite Element model
  • - Definition, editing and verification of evaluation groups
  • - Efficient detection and definition of welds
  • - Definition of load cases and load spectra
  • - Selection of codes and guidelines
  • - Management of FE interfaces and strength assessment jobs
     

Supported assessment codes and guidelines:

  • - FKM guideline 5th and 6th edition
  • - Eurocode 3 and Eurocode 9
  • - DVS1612 and DVS1608
  • - DIN15018 und DIN13001
  • - User-defined Woehler curves
  • - DangVan criterium

Assessment types:

  • - Static Strength
  • - Fatigue Strength
  • - Finite Life Fatigue

 

Assessment of welded structures:

  • - Nominal stresses
  • - Structural hot spot stresses according to IIW
    • - using shells
    • - using solid models (senor technology)
  • - Effective notch stress

 

Data Import:

  • - Control of LIMIT-Analysis via text control file generated e.g. with LIMIT-CAE
  • - Results Data:
    • - Abaqus: .odb file
    • - MSC-/NX-Nastran/Optistruct: .op2 file
    • - Ansys: .rst file
    • - Catia: Tetra results via report files
       
  • FE-Data for evaluation:
    • - Nodes, Elements
    • - Node and element sets
    • - Stresses at element nodes
    • - Displacements (sensor technology)

Processing stresses (after import of data):

License

  • - Floating network license via license server or 
  • - Node locked license
     

Hardware/System

  • - Windows 7, 8, 10
  • - 64 bit exclusively
  • - LIMIT-Analysis supports multiprocessors using shared memory parallel (SMP).

Installation of the LIMIT application does not require admin privileges, whereas installation of network-license server does.
